As a Children’s Wellbeing Session Leader, you will deliver structured emotional wellbeing sessions for groups of children aged 4–11 years. Group sizes typically range from 8–12 children, each with varying emotional, developmental and behavioural needs.
You will receive 12 hours of training over a six-week period, alongside access to The Happy Human Project™ Manual, equipping you to deliver engaging, evidence-informed sessions with confidence. Our sessions focus on emotional regulation, calming strategies, mindset development and practical wellbeing tools that children can use both in school and at home.
Sessions are designed to be fun, interactive and supportive. Your teaching style should be playful, age-appropriate and engaging, while maintaining clear structure and boundaries. You will encourage participation, lead group activities and adapt delivery to ensure all children can access and benefit from the sessions.
Strong behaviour and group management skills are essential. We use positive reinforcement and relational approaches to behaviour, and it is important that your practice reflects this. You will be responsible for creating a safe, consistent environment where children feel supported, respected and able to build trust with you.
In many settings you will lead sessions independently, although support staff may be present where required. You will always be responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the children in your care.
There may be occasions where communication with a class teacher, SENCO or parent is appropriate, and it is important that you are confident, professional and approachable in these interactions.
Ongoing support and supervision will be provided as you develop within the role.
